Dr. iur. Jānis Rozenbergs is an assistant professor at the University of Latvia and a sworn attorney-at-law with over 20 years of experience. His field of practice includes criminal law and procedure, constitutional law, litigation in civil cases, commercial law, and administrative procedures in courts and institutions. 

He tutors courses such as material criminal law (general and special part), current issues in the qualification of criminal offenses, criminal aspects of business, criminal risk analysis in business and organizational management, and banking law.

J. Rozenbergs has authored numerous scientific publications. His main areas of research are the concept of guilt, coercive measures applicable to legal persons, special confiscation of property, legalization of criminally obtained funds, as well as the right of defence and property issues in criminal proceedings. 

He is engaged in the Ministry of Justice working groups on developing amendments to both – Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law. Former Chairman of the Latvian Council of Sworn Advocates and the Latvian Examination Commission of Sworn Advocates.

J. Rozenberg’s contribution to the development of the justice system and the rule of law in Latvia and the world has been recognized by the Judicial System of Latvia by awarding him with the 1st–degree honorary badge.
