
Julia Burchett is a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for European Law of the Université Libre de Bruxelles. She obtained her PhD in October 2021 with a thesis titled “The European Union and the Fight Against Radicalisation”, undertaken through a joint supervision between the Université of Grenoble-Alpes (France) and the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). Her research and teaching activities focus primarily on European criminal law, an area in which she has already completed two prior postdoctoral research projects. She has also co-authored several studies for the European Parliament, including one titled “ Prison and detention conditions in the EU”.
In addition to her research and teaching activities, Julia is actively involved in the daily management of the Academic Network of European Criminal Law (ECLAN).
