Gintaras Švedas is a professor of law at the Law Faculty of Vilnius University and vice-dean for administrative matters of the Law Faculty of Vilnius University. G. Švedas research focuses primarily on Criminal policy, EU and national criminal law, Sentencing, and Mutual legal assistance in criminal matters. He is a member of the Committee of the Criminal Code Supervision under the Ministry of Justice of Lithuania, the Contact point for Lithuania in the ECLAN, and a Member of the Management Committee of ECLAN, etc. G. Švedas is the author (co-author) of 9 monographs, over 100 articles, also 22 manuals, textbooks and educational works. He was also involved in preparing, among others, the Criminal Code, Code of Punishment Enforcement, and Code of Criminal Procedure of Lithuania.
